Prager H3: Open Lines

Prager H3: Per usual, callers set the agenda. Issues raised include: how about giving every citizen a $1M to buy health care insurance for their entire lives; has modern art contributed to the decline of our society; why can’t the federal government manage health care and make it self-sustaining. Dennis discusses the meaning behind the Jewish New Year. It starts tonight.

Prager H2: Happiness Hour: Happiness and High School Students

Prager H2: Dennis spoke at a high school a few months ago. A student who was at the talk wrote an angry letter to the school paper. She didn’t like the idea that Dennis had the nerve to say acting happy is a moral obligation.

Prager H1: The Haters

Prager H1: Howard Dean was on Keith Olbermann’s show last night accusing the talk radio hosts of spreading hatred and being unpatriotic. He only provides one specific example, but that turns out to be a fraud. Nancy Pelosi is worried about violent rhetoric from the right leading to violence. Remember when she showed the same concern for the violent rhetoric directed at President Bush. San Francisco wants to a new tax on stores that sell soda. Yes, soda is the new tobacco.

Prager H3: Why Are Jews Liberal?

Prager H3: Dennis talks to Norman Podhoretz, an adjunct fellow of the Hudson Institute and for many years editor of Commentary. His new book is Why Are Jews Liberal?.. Massachusetts is going to change its elections again – this time so that the Democratic governor can appoint a new Democratic senator. President Obama has made a lot of good calls re: The War on Terror.

Prager H2: The Man Who Saved a Billion People

Prager H2: Very few people knew his name, but he saved a billion people. Dennis acknowledges his achievement. Environmentalists rarely consider the consequences to their policies. Getting 20% of our energy from wind and sun will blight the landscape. Nuclear Power would cause no such damage, but environmentalists oppose it. Max Baucus, the Montana Senator in charge of crafting ObamaCare, admits that his legislation is monumental, complex and will change American life. But that’s okay; his intentions are good.

Prager H3: Race Baiting

Prager H3: Dennis returns to the theme of the first hour — the Democrats attempt to use charges of racism to push their agenda. Dennis plays clips from Jimmy Carter, Rep. Hank Johnson of GA, and Dan Harris of ABC News, all of which put forth the idea that racism is at the core of objections to ObamaCare.

Prager H1: The Race Card

Prager H1: The Democrats have a new strategy — if you oppose the President, you are a racist or have strong racist tendencies. Will it succeed or backfire?.. Dennis talks to Scott Harrington, Professor of Health Care Management at the Wharton School of Business, U. of Pennsylvania. Professor Harrington researched the case histories that President Obama uses to discredit the insurance industry. He found that the President didn’t tell the full story.

Prager H2: What America Really Wants?

Prager H2: Dennis talks to Frank Luntz, renowned pollster. His new book is What Americans Really Want… Really… Whether Congressman Joe Wilson was right or wrong to his charge that the President was not telling the truth about health care for illegal immigrants is not the issue. The issue is civility. We treat the President in a certain way when he speaks to Congress. We change that at our peril.

Prager H1: What’s a Massive Crowd?

Prager H1: How many people showed up in DC on Saturday? The NY Times and LA Times say the crowd was “massive,” in the “tens of thousands;” the Daily Mail says “up to two million.” How hard could it be to figure out a reasonably accurate count?… Listeners who attended the weekend rally call in and report their impressions…
