The Russian lawyer was obsessed by the sanctions against Russian individuals. Her story had to do with the Clinton Foundation and tax dodges. I’m pretty convinced she has nothing to do with the Russian government (just individuals) and that these statement about “the Russian government” were just a ruse to get Donald Jr. more interested in a meeting.
