Prager H3: Per usual, callers set the agenda. Issues raised include: what does it mean to be African-American; how deep is the pain of losing a spouse; how do you know that you’ve found the right person.
Prager H2: Dennis opens up the lines. Issues raised include: how do you stay happy in such a bad economy; does exercise make you happy; do you need to reassess your life periodically; is there a difference between public and private happiness.
Prager H1: Every day there’s a new debt plan. The confusion makes it easy for the President to demagogue the issue… Bill Gates admits that we’re tossing away billions on solar energy deployment. Meanwhile, NY Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, gives $50M to the Sierra Club in an effort to destroy the coal industry. It won’t matter to the mayor, he’s a billionaire, but it will matter to a coal miner.
Prager H3: Dennis talks to Paul Bloom, Professor of Psychology at Yale University and author of How Pleasure Works: The New Science of Why We Like What We Like… Dennis prefers the Krauthammer plan — raise debt ceiling $500b matched with $500b in specific budget cuts. That will buy Republicans time to get on top of this issue. Right now, there’s too much confusion. And confusion favors the President.
Prager H2: The Left has a contemptuous view of the Right. Dennis cites a few recent examples he’s come across…
Prager H1: The Gang of Six deficit plan put forth by three Democrat senators and three Republican senators has been endorsed by the Wall Street Journal and denounced by Investors Business Daily, two publication that usually agree… A MSNBC host slams a Republican congressman, challenging his economic credentials, and gets an answer she didn’t expect… Dennis talks David Brooks, columnist for the NY Times. His new book is The Social Animal.
Prager H3: Dennis speaks with Richard Rubenstein, Professor of Religion at the University of Bridgeport. His new book is Jihad and Genocide… Can a playground be too safe? Should kids be exposed to some risk? The long time liberal answer to these questions has been “no.” But now it appears to have been a mistake. Common sense wins again.
Prager H2: Is it good or not good to abstain from any sexual contact before marriage?
