Prager H2: An Iowa congressman’s family is saved by the fact that he had a gun in his home and someone (his son-in-law) used it… Dennis talks to Timur Kuran, Duke University professor of economics and political science. His new book is The Long Divergence: How Islamic Law Held Back the Middle East… Dennis returns to the debt issue.
Prager H1: The Los Angeles freeways were actually free this weekend. Work on a major overpass closed down the 405 freeway, the busiest one in the world, and people stayed off the roads, a truly novel experience for Angelenos… Casey Anthony is free, but is she really? Where does she go?… Does the President have a deficit reduction plan? If so, has anyone seen it?.. A CNN analyst admits that Obama wanted to be a “transformational” chief executive, but the Tea Party stopped him. She means it as a criticism of the Tea Party.
Prager H3: Per usual, callers set the agenda. Issues raised include: if not physically attracted to a possible mate should you pursue relationship; will Dennis be remembered decades from now: does “love your neighbor” apply to parents.
Prager H2: If you are, then you have very little chance of happiness. You need to recognize your moods and control them. A Best of Prager Hour. Originally broadcast on February 2, 2007.
Prager H1: Governor Brown signs a law that mandates contributions of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and the transgendered be taught to school children from kindergarten through high school… Radical feminism trumps justice on college campuses… Dennis talks to Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal about the European fate of America if we stay on our current spending path.
Prager H3: Dennis continues his analysis of the debt ceiling negotiations. The Republicans may take a hit in the polls if the ceiling isn’t raised, but holding firm on big budget cuts may throw off the President. Also, the Omaha Public Schools spent $130,000 from stimulus funds on “cultural diversity manuals”, which are intended to train teachers on how to treat kids based on their ethnicity and race. The Left calls the Right racist and then treats kids based on their race.
Prager H2: With the debt ceiling negotiations coming to a head, Dennis speaks with John Podhoretz, Editor of Commentary Magazine. The debt ceiling needs to be raised in order to preserve America’s credit rating, but a long-term deal looks increasingly unlikely. President Obama was honest when he campaigned on transforming America. One cost of transformation is this potentially calamitous debt crisis.
