Prager H1: Casey Anthony will soon walk free. How did it happen?.. Her defense attorney didn’t distinguish himself afterwards. His non-sequitur thoughts on capital punishment were especially inane… What does reasonable doubt mean anymore?
Prager H3: Dennis plays clips from his appearance on Howard Kurtz’s CNN show, Reliable Sources. The issue was same sex marriage… The Casey Anthony verdict comes in during the hour. Not guilty!
Prager H2: Musing on the Casey Anthony trial, Dennis wonders whether defending criminals changes defense attorneys. Police admit that being around the dregs of society often has a negative impact on them. Why would it be different for criminal defense attorneys?.. Even if one accepts the Administration’s own figures, the cost of creating each stimulus-related job was $278K… Callers tell Dennis about their experiences using the 4th of July Declaration.
Prager H1: Dennis has received many emails from people who used the July 4th Declaration ceremony… Dennis talks about his appearance on Howard Kurtz’s CNN Sunday Show, Reliable Sources. The subject was same sex marriage… Dennis refers to a new Harvard study that suggests that when children attend 4th of July parades they tend to become conservatives.
Prager H3: Dennis repeats his point that if you can’t celebrate America, then you can’t celebrate any country. It’s sad that waving a flag or wearing the colors is considered to be “Republican”. A descendant of slaves calls in, and says that he can imagine his ancestors looking down, thinking that it might have been worth it to come to America as slaves so that their descendants could live as free people.
Prager H2: Broadcasting live on July 4th, Dennis addresses a left-wing caller who explains his discomfort with celebrating America’s birthday. Dennis explains why America is a country worth celebrating. If you can’t celebrate America, then what country can you celebrate? America should be compared to other countries, not to an imaginary utopia.
Prager H1: Dennis broadcasts live on our nation’s birthday to help make this holiday a meaningful one. July 4th needs to be more than just a barbecue. It’s about honoring a unique country, one that does not care about ethnicity or race. A caller from Australia expresses his gratitude for how much America has helped his country. One way to express one’s love for America is to celebrate on July 4th. But too many on the Left see flags and celebrations as “Republican”.
Prager H3: Dennis has a fascinating discussion with Professor Allen Guelzo, Professor of History at Gettysburg College. Professor Guelzo’s latest book is Lincoln and Douglas: The Debates that Defined America. A Best of Prager Hour. Originally broadcast on March 27, 2008.
